"FLOWERS AND SUMAC"

Flowers and sumac and crisp flowing streams,
And trails lined with unkempt pine trees,
That's what the country is to me.
There's a hawk circling, and making his sound,
And deer running off when they're found.
That's why the country is profound.
And over there's a forest, I'll be cool in it's shade.
And it has squirrels and insects and beige-colored leaves,
The world I live in has these.
And butterflies float on the fluttering breeze,
Caressing the flowers as they pass.
So I go walking while dreaming and singing of thee,
The world where I'm happy --
The world where I'm happy to be.
