Entrance Description

The arena suddenly goes pitch black, stunning the crowd into silence. From out of nowhere, a jagged lightning bolt ferociously strikes in front of the entryway, creating a massive wall of fire at least 15 feet high. "Noctem Acternus" by Midnight Syndicate plays ominously over the PA of the blue-lighted arena as the massive figure of Doomsday emerges from behind the curtain and slowly, methodically approaches the ring through the wall of fire. The crowd erupts into boos on sight of the big man, but he pays them no heed, keeping his gaze locked on the ring. Doomsday climbs up the ring apron and steps over the top rope as he goes to the center of the ring. Once there, he throws his hair back out of his face and makes a cutting motion across his throat, causing towers of flames to erupt from all four turnbuckles! The lights come back to normal as Doomsday heads to one corner. He leans casually against the turnbuckles, a look of amusement on his face as he waits for his match to begin.

Doomsday

History

James Nathaniel Drakestone, later to be known as Doomsday, was born on October 31, 1967, in Los Angeles, Calfiornia. At the age of 2, he and his parents moved to Death Valley, California, where Jim Drakestone grew up and attended school. While he was always the biggest kid in the entire school - even in kindergarten - he was definitely not a bully. Instead, he did his best to try to control the bullying problem, occasionally by words, but usually by force. In high school, he tried a variety of sports, but none gave him any satisfaction. It was while in college that he found something he actually enjoyed: wrestling. Despite being placed in the super heavyweight division, he was still larger, stronger, and more agile than anybody in the division, and he used these attributes to remain undefeated throughout his college years, winning numerous trophies and championships. He graduated at the top of his class, but then found himself without a clue as to what career he should go after. He tried several different areas - bodyguard, bouncer, bounty hunter, even some time as a Navy SEAL in Desert Storm - but none of them satisfied him. Eventually, he was approached by someone he had been a bodyguard for years ago...who told Drakestone that he now owned his own wrestling promotion, the ICW, and was wondering if the big man would be interested in giving professional wrestling a shot. Drakestone said he'd think about it and get back to him within 24 hours. Sure enough, 23 hours and 59 minutes later, the man received a phone call from Jim Drakestone, who decided that yes, he would give it a shot. Drakestone was quickly signed and took the name Doomsday. He ended up defeating Hulk Hogan in his debut match, remaining undefeated in that promotion. It closed down before he could win any titles, but since then, he has won 7 World Titles, 3 Hardcore Titles, 2 U.S. Titles, 1 FWF Big Mouth Title, a spot in the Next Generation Wrestling Hall of Fame, and 14 World Tag Team Titles, the last three of which were won in the GWA. After an attack at GWA Avalanche, Doomsday started going by his real name, Drakestone. That didn't last very long, though, because on May 1, 2002, at Insurrection, Drakestone was brutally attacked by Mr. Stone, costing the big man his first and only shot at the GWA Gladiator Title. He disappeared that entire week, but then put in an appearance at the end of the May 8th Insurrection, where he swiftly destroyed Mr. Stone...under the name Doomsday! The Lord of Darkness has returned, and this could only mean trouble for the GWA. Indeed, it already has meant trouble for The Union, because on the June 12, 2002, edition of Insurrection...Doomsday turned on The Union! Cursing his former teammates as useless baggage, he Chokeslammed The Icon straight to hell, informing Doom, The Icon, and Sarah that they will be on their own from now on. What's next for The Career Killer? And will he ever claim the GWA Gladiator Title as his own? Only time will tell.

Profile

Doomsday is your classic gothic badass. Serious in and out of the ring. He looks upon his competition as an endless source of amusement, and is almost always seen with an amused smirk on his face. Not very many men have made the mistake of pissing this man off, but those that have, sadly, are no longer with us.

Appearance

Physically, Doomsday bears a strong resemblance to the old, gothic Undertaker, right down to the massive amount of tattoos on his arms. However, Doomsday has gone one step further and placed tattoos of flames over both of his eyebrows. His ring attire consists of a sleeveless black shirt, thick black wrist bands, black pants that are almost but not quite skin-tight, and black boots that extend upwards to a point one inch below his knees.

Style

All-Rounder, but primarily Powerhouse

Finisher

Cataclysm

Finisher Description

First, Doomsday grips his opponent in a pumphandle, an amused smirk on his face. He lifts his opponent to his shoulder, then slides his hands to his opponent's armpits. He hoists his opponent a little bit higher, Scott Hall style, then DRIVES his opponent into the canvas with an inverted Outsider's Edge! This move primarily effects the head, face, neck, and chest, and more often than not results in a knock-out and occasionally a neck injury.

Career Achievements

7-time World Champion (current NWFW World Heavyweight Champion), 3-time Hardcore Champion, 2-time U.S. Champion, 1-time FWF Big Mouth Champion, 11-time World Tag Team Champion, 3-time GWA Legion Tag Team Champion, NGW Hall of Fame inductee (February, 2000)
