Cauldrons were originally used during the middle ages for brewing a soup or a stew. They were big, heavy, black pots that can be used both indoors and outdoors. They can be seen hanging on a castle wall. Rumors has it that witches also use cauldrons. They would put their potions and weird ingredients into the cauldron, mix it up, to create a spell or potion. Sometimes they will need to say an incantation in order for the spell to work. Witches would most likely conduct their spells outdoors in the forest where they can be one with nature. They also like the forest because it brings mystique and isolation. Cauldrons are not as famous among today's modern witches as they were during the Middle Ages and the Salem Witch Trials. Although we do not use cauldrons in our modern world today, they have not disappeared. Cauldrons are still remembered through the ages on the day of October 31st, on All Hallow's Eve, in honor of the witches.
