It was the night of October 31. I was out trick-or-treating, hoping to get a lot of candy. But somehow, I got lost in a vacant park boundlessly filled with trees. All of a sudden, a morbid fear of open spaces overcame me. I was so frightened that I couldn't even move, but I knew I had to move or else I'd have to stay here forever!

I started walking towards the direction in which I thought was north. After a while of walking, I had a feeling that I was being followed! I turned around, but only saw darkness. I started to panic and so I ran as fast as my little legs could carry me. I heard twigs snapping behind me. I turned around. I knew I shouldn't have, but I had to. I saw a man with a jack o' lantern head!

He had the most wicked grin that I had ever seen in my whole life. His eyes were also a glowing green, the same eye color as a black cat's. I gave a loud, shrill scream and ran for my life. I tripped over a stone and fell flat on my face. I quickly got back up because I knew that if I didn't continue running, the man would catch me!

After a while, I came to a place surrounded by fences with an open gate. I ran in there, not knowing where I was going. It took me a few minutes before I realized that I was in a cemetery!

Now that I realized this, I noticed that this place was filled with the putrid smell of decay. I was too worried about getting caught to care about my surroundings. I ran forward blindly. When I was running out of breath and I couldn't possibly run anymore, I realized that I was at a dead end. Right in front of me was a fence!

I turned around and there was the man about 20ft. away! I decided to sprint to the right or left. Unfortunately, those weren't my options. There was a skeleton to my right, a vampire to my left, and a zombie digging dirt in front of me! They were each coming closer now! I was cornered and outnumbered! I was desperate for I knew I was doomed! The monsters sensed my fear and laughed hysterically.

I tried to climb the fence. Too late! The skeleton grabbed my right leg while the vampire got a hold of my left. Together, they pulled me down. They pulled me toward the digging zombie. I struggled with all my might, but they were too strong! I realized that the zombie was digging a grave. My grave! They threw me into the grave at the count of three. A moment later, they were throwing dirt on top of me! I pounded and struggled and clawed, but there was no way out! I even tried screaming, but dirt fell into my mouth and I choked. I was doomed! I knew I was going to suffocate!

The dirt stopped piling and I heard the monster's footsteps fade away. When I thought the worse was over, that I was to stay here and die, I was sort of relieved. At least I get to die in a grave and my body is all in one piece. All of a sudden, hands plunged into the dirt! No, I thought! The hands got a hold of my shoulders and jerked me back and forth! Then I awoke with a start. My mother was jerking me back and forth.
