Share the Flame

Students often ask me to describe the purpose of The Kabbalah Centre in one sentence and this is my answer: The mission of The Kabbalah Centre is to remove the darkness from the world by revealing the Light.

I give them the example of a large darkened auditorium. If you place a single candle in the middle, it not only lessens the darkness but no amount of darkness can extinguish the flame. Even if the darkness were expanded, it would have no effect on the candles radiance.

Darkness is powerless in the presence of light. The relationship between light and darkness in the everyday world reveals a profound secret of spirituality. Spiritual darkness can exist only in the Lights absence.

By sharing the wisdom of Kabbalah with the world, we are essentially lighting candles in our darkened world, for the wisdom and tools themselves are the stuff and substance of spiritual Light.

The more we share these tools, the more we diminish the darkness throughout the world.

This is why we have 50 Centres worldwide, with recent additions in Moscow and Poland. This is why Spirituality For Kids (SFK) will soon be offered in the major cities throughout the world. And this is why The Zohar Project has set a goal of distributing one million Zohars to the troubled areas of this planet.

This week, it is important for you to ask yourself two questions. First, Do I truly understand the potential Kabbalah has to save the world? and second, What am I doing to share the flame?

Learning Kabbalah is an amazing personal journey, but it requires taking personal responsibility for the world. Thinking that you are a small drop in a vast sea is not how a kabbalist thinks. A true kabbalist knows that his or her actions are the one grain of sand that can tilt the scale in favor of peace and harmony in the world.

None of us can rest easy until a critical mass has been reached, when enough citizens of the world are using the tools of Kabbalah to remove the darkness from their lives.

The energy of this week is such that if you desire to renew your commitment to removing the darkness, you will find the methods to do so. And of course, dont forget that every life you touch adds greater blessings to your life.

If you havent already experienced the magic of SFK or The Zohar Project, this is the perfect week to get involved. Inquire at your local Centre or with Student Support about how you can be a part of these life-saving - and Light revealing - projects.

All the Best,
Yehuda Berg

I take this Name with me out into the real world so I can share the Light with friends, family, and the entire family of humankind.

I envisage openings and opportunities in the world for the global dissemination of this ancient wisdom.

I ask for the strength to walk the talk.

I know that this Name arouses the forces of immortality and joy in the world.

I must expect and demand nothing less.
