BODY LENGHT; Between 60-90cm (24-36 inches)

SHOULDER HEIGHT; approximately 30cm (12 inches)
WEIGHT; A female weighs 3.0-3.2kg (6.5-6.9lbs) where as males can weigh up to 4.5kg (10lbs)
HABITAT; Low land subtropical rainforest, dense mangroves, sandy beaches
DIET; Small rodents, bats, birds, reptiles, fish, frogs, insects and crabs
APPEARANCE; Iriomote cats have a dark brown long-haired coat with black spots and rosettes arranged rows, which tend to merge into bands. They have dark lines running from the back of shoulders.
REPRODUCTION; Females give birth to 1-4 (usually 2-3) kittens after a gestation of 56-70 days. Usually they give birth in a den or a rock crevice or hollow tree. The kittens are left on their own when they are about 3 months old and they go mature more rapidly than other types of cats.
