I think that this shit has gone far enough. Canadians hating Americans, and Americans hating Canadians, it's bullshit. We have to be neighbors, countries just don't pack up and leave for another continent, so we must get along. Yes, we are very, very different. Canada is more Socialist which means the church has less power over people, and Canadians tend to be more liberal about things. The U.S is more Capitalist, more religious, and yes it has more people, meaning more of an army. I think we all now see the difference if it wasn't apparent before. But, we are alike as well. The most apparent is of course we share a language, English, which means we were both under British rule at one time, we both are each other's biggest single trading partner, so we both need the other in a way. Both Canadians and Americans have invented great things that we all now take advantage of. For example, a Canadian invented the light bulb, but an American bought the patent. And it was an American who invented the blood bank, without which many people would have died. I think people should remember what we have in common instead of what we have different. Ask yourself this, If you were in say Paris, would a native Parisien (ne) look at you and say "Americain (e) conchon" and spit at your feet, knowing for sure that you are in fact American? My point is this, no one can tell an American from a Canadian without a flag or asking. That's all I have to say. |
