| Joseph M. Smith, my great great grand father.Born in Fredrick County, Virginia, Mar 2, 1829. He died of old age in Whiteside County, IL. Nov. 9, 1913 at the age of 84. Jan 22. 1877, Joseph married Elizabeth Green Clark, in Whiteside county IL. Together they had 2 children: Charles William Smith Margaret Griffith Smith (Reisinger):married Willis Herbert Reisinger(brother to Mary Elva Reisinger). In 1880 Joseph bought a farm from John Smith. | Elizabeth Green Clark, my great great grand mother. Born near Salem IN.(also the birth place of her father). on July 2, 1852, died of Dropsy caused by Bright's disease Dec. 19, 1925 in her homein Dixion Il. at the age of 73. Elizabeth was the oldest child of Argus B. and Margaret F. Clark. In 1860 she moved with her parents to clark county IN. where her father died Aug 1866. Sept 1872 they moved to Coleta Il. only to move back to the family home in IN where she met Joseph Smith and moved back to Coleta IL. May 25th 1877 Joseph and Elizabeth married.. In 1880 they bought the JOhn Smith 80 acre farm Northeast of Coleta. Elizabeth had 2 brothers: Thomas W. Clark and John W clark. |
