Hansel Roland Carnahan
and
Lola Isabel Smith
Lola Isabel Smith, known to me as grandma Draper.  Grandma Draper is my first paternal grandmother. She was born Nov. 19, 1908, on a farm North of Coleta, IL. Before she married my grandfather, she was married to George Rubright, I do not have much of his information, aside that they had a daughter together, My Aunt Pauline.  I did not know that she was only my half aunt until I began my research.  You'd be amazed at the things you can find out about your family.  Later on Grandma Draper married Haensel Carnahan (my paternal Grandpa), in Dec. 1939, Together Grandma Draper and Grandpa Carnahan, had Jerry (Gerald) my father, and a daughter named Judy.  They divorced in 1949. Then in  Dec. 1955 Grandma Draper married Walter F. Draper.

Lola was married 5 times in total:
Gerorge Rubright
Hansel Carnahan
George Willard
Walter Draper 2 times

I am told that I am the spitting image of my grandma Draper, down to haveing multipule cysts removed from our left wrists.  I am said to have the same personality and demenor as  grandma Draper.  I wish I could remember her, but she completed her duties on earth when I was but 3 years old.. She died of cancer, which started in her uterus, it was not caught in time spred!
Haensel Roland Carnahan, known to me only as grandpa. He was born July 1, 1914 (aprox.) in McLeansboro, IL.  He was adopted. Died Dec 1989 in Lancaster CA.  Hansel and Lola were married Dec 1939 and divorced 1949.  Afterthe divorce Hansel movel to Inglewood Ca. there he remarried and had 5 son (names unkown).
His father: Willard  (possible Dillard) Carnahan
His mother: Gertrude (?) Carnahan - died 1959
I recently have learned the Willard whom I have been told was my greatgrand fathers name was possible Dillard married Gertrude Higginson, Hansel's biological mother.  All dates that I have found along with census report would indicate date that correspond to make this new information factual.

Please if there is anyone that has information on Hansel Roland Carnahan and his children contact me at [email protected] my father remembers meeting his 5 half brother as a teenager or young adult and wishes to find them again.  His health is not that good and I would love to give him the gift of talking to or seeing his brothers one last time.

As I get more information I will post it.  Please be paitent because getting information can be very hard, time consumeing, and costly.  And always remember not all information may be exactly correct. As lots of people believe everything they are told that is pasted down by word of mouth.  And we all know that the further gossip goes down the chain things can change.  I am doing this so that other people can have access to my information, plus I dont want my kids to have to go through what I am with the research.. I hope on day I can publish a book with my family history.
