| Jonathan Clark: born between 1695 and 1698, in Alebmarle, King & Queen Co. VA. Died April 9 1734, in Drysdale, King & Queen Co. VA. Jonathan is the son of John Clark and Elizabeth Ann Lumpkin. Jonathan is the grand father of the famous Gen. George Rogers Clark and William Clark, the explorer. Jonathan married abt. 1725 in Drysdale, VA. to Elizabeth Ann (Nancy) Wilson. Together they had the following children: Ann/Anne, John Jonathan, Benjamin Wilson and Elizabeth. A copy of Jonathan Clarks will is in the Draper Collection of Historic Papers in the Wisconsin Historical Society. I would post the will here on my site but there is to much information, for me to sit here and type it all out...sorry. Jonathan one of the first of the first ti enter the American army, at the end of the war was a Lieutenant Colonel, and had a glroious war record, including his brothers John and Edmund. |
