While serving as Goodwill Ambassador, Audrey did divert away from her duties, but just briefly.  She took out time to star in what would be her final movie, Always.  She plays an angel, Hap, who gives counsel to a man who has died, played by Richard Dreyfuss. Audrey doesn't seem old; rather, she has a wise, experienced look.  She glowed in her role as Hap.  But even though it was Audrey's last film, she had many more rewards in store for her.
In 1990, Audrey received the Cecil B. DeMille Award.  The award honors those who contribute much to the fine arts.  That same year, she received the Child Survival Award for her work with UNICEF.  She  had tea with First Lady Barbara Bush, where they discussed UNICEF, and being a Goodwill Ambassador.  In 1991, Audrey was still active, and would see her longtime friend, Hubert de Givenchy, and watch his fashion shows.  Again, Audrey took out time from her UNICEF duties.  This time, she filmed
Gardens of the World for PBS.  She presented Sean Connery with the American Cinematheque Award in 1992.  But by November of 1992, Audrey was diagnosed with colon cancer.  She had previously experience stomach pains, but did not attend to them.  She died on January 20, 1993.  She was buried in her Swiss retreat, where she now rests in peace.  Audrey may be gone, but her legacy is not.  Her legacy lives on as long as ever.  Audrey, thank you for giving us something to aspire to:  a legacy of beauty, poise, and talent.  If only we all could be the like the original, one-and-only, Miss Audrey Hepburn.

A special thank-you goes out to Carol Krenz, whose book "Audrey: A Life In Pictures" provided me with the basic structure needed to complete this biography.
