In the process, Linus falls in love with Sabrina himself. (I won't tell you how this one ends either.) Starring in the film was William Holden as David and Humphrey Bogart as Linus. Holden had an off-screen love affair with Audrey. This was a doomed love affair, since Holden was married with children and unable to produce any more children. Audrey ended the relationship, because of her deep desire to be a mother. Holden still loved her, and never stopped loving her.
After her breakup with Holden, Audrey went to London to see the premiere of Roman Holiday. Soon afterward, she met Mel Ferrer, a handsome actor, with whom she soon fell in love . They did a play together, Ondine, about a soldier and a water sprite. The play was a Broadway hit, and one day, during a performance, Audrey was notified about her winning the Oscar for Best Actress. She hurried to get her Oscar, while still wearing her exaggerated stage makeup. She arrived a few moments before it was presented, only to misplace it soon afterward. She found it before she took her publicity photos.
A little over a year after meeting him, Audrey married Ferrer, in a small wedding in Switzerland. Her mother, a constant source of pessimism, opposed their marriage. Audrey, not matter how pessimistic her mother was, remained loyal and respectful. One month after being married, Audrey was pregnant. She and Mel were both excited about their child-to-be. But before they could make any plans, Audrey suffered a miscarriage. Despite her personal disappointment, Audrey went to work on the movie War and Peace, based on the book by Leo Tolstoy. In it, she played as Natasha Rostova. ( I'd give you more information, but I haven't watched it all the way through yet.) The movie was not a box office success, but this didn't put a damper on Audrey's success. |
