Audrey Look: Roman Holiday
The Roman Holiday look is for the Audrey fan who has mastered the Breakfast at Tiffany's look and is ready for the professional-level challenge. The clothing from Roman Holiday is harder to match than Breakfast at Tiffany's. The most difficult part of the look is matching the famous ballgown that the princess wore. I have given you several images, in a somewhat vain attempt to simulate the look of Roman Holiday. If you can find a dress in closer proximity to the ballgown in the movie, don't hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected]. Much success with the look!

To get this look, all I can suggest is to visit some vintage clothing websites. After browsing a bit, you might be able to duplicate the look. If you don't want to browse a bit, then follow these simple tips: -Find a full cut skirt, almost like a ballgown-type, but above ankle-length -make sure the skirt is a muted color, like a soft blue or pastel pink (no fuschia or lime) -wear a lightweight crinoline for extra fullness in the skirt -Find a white, shortsleeved shirt, and fold the sleeves up about 1 inch. Leave the top 2 buttons on the blouse unbuttoned. -Wear simple, stylish flats with the outfit. -Finish the look with a black scarf, tied around the neck as an accent. Be sure that there are at least 3 inches of scarf ends left loose once it has been knotted (don't choke yourself)
To get this look takes more effort, but you get a more stunning result. In this case, browse websites that contain formal gowns. Listed here are the basic requirements to duplicate the "Royal Dignitary" look: -Again, the skirt should be full, but don't go for ankle- or calf-length dresses. You want your dress past the ankles. (No trains, please) -Go for an off the shoulder style (this one will be hard to find); or, go for a strapless look. -Make sure the bodice has a body-conscious fit (this is where waist cinchers would make their debut) -Add glittery or satiny low- to mid-heeled shoes -Finish the look with hair in an upswept bun, accented with a sparkly tiara.
