| About Kristin: When I first started raising, Iola was "the dog". I hadn't really thought about raising after her as no dog could take her place. My feelings on that changed. Kristin didn't take Iola's place, I had plenty of room in my heart to love both dogs...and more for the future. I was first listed to have my second pup to raise as a white German shepherd female that's name started with a "T". As raisers, we are not told the name of the pip until we are holding them because may complain about the name or changes could be made for you to recieve a different pup, say it got sick. In this case, the white shepherd was changed to a female sable GSD that's name started with a "K". (The white shepherd I was originally lined up for would have been named "Trini" or "Trinka" as I later found out.) This pup was Kristin. My mom and I picked her up from the airport in SLC on November 15, 2003. She was a fun pup and a joy to raise. She was definitely smart...sometimes too smart. Kristin was transferred on May 8, 2003 to a different raiser in Washington. Sometimes dogs are transferred for one reason or another. It is for the best and sometimes having a new home gives a pup a better chance at becoming a guide. Kristin was career changed, or was dropped, on December 9, 2003 for high prey drive and small animal distraction. Her raiser in Washington had decided to no keep her as a pet and so I had the option to take her back. She's been with me ever since. Kristin is now working on becoming a therapy dog for "Love on a Leash". |

| Alice is an active breeder for Guide Dogs. She was raised in California and is a sable, you can't really tell in these pictures. Sable is a coat color where the hairs are not solid, but more of a ticking or brindling. |
| Doyle was raised in Utah. He is currently not an active breeder. He's roughly 12 yrs. old and belongs to a board member at Guide Dogs. |
| L to R: Kennedy, Kinley, and Kim. Kristin was born in a litter of four pups and all were sable coloring like their mom. I was able to meet all the siblings in the litter. Kennedy was raised in California and was recently chosen as a new breeder for Guide Dogs. Kinley was raised in Utah by the same woman who had raised Doyle and she recently graduated. Kim was also raised in California and just graduated 07/04 and is working in Geogia and lives with 7 cats. I was able to work with Kim on my last internship at GDB. |
