| having two big, hyper females. There is a quote about puppy raising that I like, "It takes a village to raise a child and community to raise a guide dog pup." In Estelle's case, my leader and her daughter started Estelle out the first month of her being raised to help get through the young puppy stage. Later on my neighbor helped me with co-raising a pup as I was so busy and it was shortly after I took Kristin back who also needed work. In January, I was on my way to Oregon to go see the graduation of Iola as a guide and meet her partner. On the way, Estelle went in season. Travelling with a dog is hard enough, but one in season is worse. My mom and I booked it to the campus where we had made arrangements for her to be boarded in the kennels. While there, it was determined that Estelle would be career changed for a cosmetic defect. Estelle now lives with a family that raised puppies before and so I new she'd be in experienced hands. She also lives with a rescued golden retriever named Tucker that she helps keep in line...although I'm told her halo slips now and then. |

| Puppy Harvest |
| All the pups I raised came from small litters, Estelle's was of three and all girls. This is her sister, Elisabeth, who was a queen for Halloween (Queen Elisbeth). She was raised in Colorado and was career changed earlier in 2004. The other sister, Etta, was raised in California and is in harness training. |
| Klondike is the sire to Lilith and grandpa to Estelle. He has a genetic smile, you can see it in Estelle. |
