And it’s the fun of running with the wolves
With out the danger of being eaten by them
That makes you go out every night
Push curfew just a little more each time
For that last smile as you drive away
One more midnight run
Just down to the hang out
In case he’s there with his other friends
And it’s the sensation of flying with the golden finches
Without leaving the ground
That makes your best friend smile
Like she know it all
That makes the ribbons in her hair
Spin around her face
As she laughs and twirls down the lawn
To meet some friends, later that night at a club
And it’s knowing the feeling of immortality
While out running the sands of time
As each grain of sand hits the bottom of your hour glass
Driving down the road
You could have sworn was a dead end
Only to find it starts where you thought it ended
But its knowing the wolves
Wont out run the hourglass
But chaises you far beyond
The sound their feet make
On the unknown road
A half hour past curfew
But its all worth it
Because you know
The adventure never ends
And when the sun rises
You just know
That tomorrow night
The wolves will chaise you
But you’ll need a good run
