300 Miles

There is a girl that I know, who seems so sure of herself
Lays on hot coals knowing she should burn, and complains she’s cold

She’s the girl, which fell in love with a boy
Says the heart brakes easier when he’s 300 miles away

I told her she is the bad love song on the radio
The one that keeps playing, always when I want to forget

But she shook her head laughing, Saying “Loves songs
Will consume me But they’ll never set me free”

To me she’s my love song, but to her
She’s a supporting actor, in her best friend’s soup opera

If I ask her and she’ll tell me, she’ll close her door
leave her bedroom the windows open, waiting for me to find a way in

She won’t admit that I love her, she sees me as her best friend
Closer then the girls she gabs with,

She claims to be in love with a friend
When I ask why she won’t go for it with him

She’ll whisper in the phone to tell me a secret
“I’m with him now the way I want him.”
