CUT TO: EXT-SHUTTLE USS MOS-3 IN FLIGHT-NIGHT

WHIP PAN to interior. Keane is in the left command seat, Chief Jackson in the right, piloting the craft.

JACKSON: How's he holding up, Sandy?

KEANE: Not good, Dave. I think Monday got what she wanted. Seeing those girls got to him. I tried going over the details but he seemed distracted. I'm worried.

JACKSON: Ah, he'll be fine. How hard's it gonna be? They think they're getting the superpower shot but they're getting the antidote instead. It's perfect. The worst comes later.

KEANE: Yes. I wish you could be there, but I really need you on the ship. When I make contact, you and your men beam directly to the bridge.

JACKSON: It'll be dicey. Smith has friends, too. Our rendezvous point is just ahead.

WHIP PAN to side angle view of shuttle descending onto rocky, hilly terrain, with occasional bushes scattered about. The location is obviously away from the city; crickets are chirping. Both front hatches open as the engines whine to silence. Jackson steps out on camera side, Keane the other; she comes around front of shuttle to stand next to him. Everything is visible in the moonlight, but seen in shadows.

KEANE: You'd better stay with the shuttlecraft.

JACKSON: Be careful, Sandy.

CAMERA PANS on Keane, as she slowly makes her way left, dodging boulders in her path.

VOICE: [Off-camera.] Stop right there, Admiral.

The voice is familiar, it is JOJO (this world's Mojo Jojo).

KEANE: [Stopping, looking around.] Where are you?

JOJO: Muahahaha. You know better than that, for had I wanted you to be seeing me, I would be standing in front of you so you could do that. See me, that is.

KEANE: Sorry. You have the antidote?

JOJO: Lucky for us I broke in and stole it before they destroyed the rest of it, or there would have been nothing for me to steal. Do you see a cave fifty meters to your right?

WHIP PAN to cave opening, from Keane's POV, and then back on Keane.

KEANE: Yes.

JOJO: You will find three vials in a case inside the cave. You have made the other arrangements?

KEANE: Yes, everything's as ready as it's going to be.

JOJO: Keane, you may not agree but it is very important that you listen. Captain Stewart downloaded to me files of those girls in action before they were taken aboard your ship. I understand that their presence puts our very existence in peril, but we need them. You know the chaos that will result from the sudden collapse of the existing power structure. Riots, civil war, the pent-up rage of twelve years of oppression. After the antidote is given, Utonium must isolate the agent that gave those girls their powers, and give it to Monday and her sisters.

KEANE: No! Are you crazy?

JOJO: I hear my other-world counterpart fulfills that requirement sufficiently for both of us. But, Keane, if you do not, they are defenseless against the vengeance that will come their way. I cannot permit that. We cannot protect them forever. And without their assistance, it will take years to undo what they have done. Now I must go. Think about it.

KEANE: Wish us luck.

[Silence.]

KEANE: Jojo? Oh, well.

CAMERA PANS ON Keane as she hurriedly heads for the cave. She disappears inside and the glow of light is seen; she reappears holding in one hand a shiny object that looks like a small suitcase, a flashlight in the other. She turns off the light, looks both ways to get her bearings, and rapidly makes her way to the shuttle. Jackson is already seated and engines are heard powering up. He closes his hatch as she runs around to her side and climbs in.

CUT TO: INT-SHUTTLE

JACKSON: [Looking at her.] Got it?

KEANE: [Holding up the case.] All set. Dave, you won't believe this...
