Sir Donald Bradman was born in the small town of Cootamundra on August 27,1908. Even from a early age Don showed skill in many sports. Don praticed cricket by throwing a golf ball at the bottem of a water tank and it bonced off a different directions sharpening Don's reflex's and strokes. Using pratice like these helped Don to score 20,067 runs including 117 centuries between 1927 - 1949. His career average in batting was 95.14. He also played 52 tests scoring 6,996 runs with a average of 99.94, and he captained in 24 tests between 1936 - 1948. In cricket he got 452 not out agasint for NSW vs Queensland which was his highest score in cricket. Sir Donald Bradman was knighted in 1949 and became a cricket administrator. |
