Growing up in the Chelsea Homes housing projects of Memphis, the Bigboy was always considered a bad kid with a good heart. He always got into a lot of trouble, especially since he and friend Bobby Christmas were constantly targeted by school bullies. (Bigboy and Christmas took on seven other boys at once in their first encounter, and won.) Recognizing their fighting skills and deciding to use them for legal profit, the two men entered pro wrestling where they quickly became feared champions. It was during his wrestling training that two men became friends with Terry "T-Money" Crews.
Bigboy became a singles star when his partner Bobby Christmas was convicted of murder and sent to prison. Shortly after entering singles competition, Hollywood met the woman called Midnight while on a wrestling tour. The two became close, and she began to accompany him as he quickly rose through the ranks to become a Grand Slam champion and multi-world champion. He is known for his "new jack" style of wrestling and is a risk taker in the ring.
