"JANICE"

This poem was written for me by my "Best Friend" and mother-n-law in February 2000. She is very special and dear to me................Thank you...Mom!.

The card for Mother's day was signed, "better days ahead"
Little did I know what was in store for me or my son
I almost lost my life in order to find it
But God gave me another life you see
And a friend to walk the rest of the way with me
So into my life she came
Quite, loving, and enduring
Through good times and bad
Always a certain smile and kind word
With just the right touch of the hand.
My life had been so lonely, Without a true friend.
She fell in love with my son, And accepted me for me
I wasn't considered a mother-in-law
But a friend that time could test
There were many things she did To say I love you too
with her hand outstretched to me
She was thoughtful and kind
Offering me friendship and a cup of coffee
To warm my heart and soul
She helps me with my computer, curls my hair,
and hems my pants
Sends me messages of friendship and love
Brightening my day and making me smile
She likes lighthouses so she can be far above the crowd
She has vision and wants to see far out to sea
She is like a beacon, a shining light
To beam a troubled soul to shore
She thinks of me in so many ways
A truer friend I could not find
This last journey down life's lane
Will be so much easier with her to hold my hand
Those big eyes say so much more
Than words can ever say
the touch of her hand gives me comfort
And helps me to not be afraid
I know God gave her to me, Just as sure as the stars
Shine up in the sky
And when I leave this world behind
I know she will be there
To hold my hand and help me not to cry
She will hand me off to Jesus
From her hand right into His
Because he sent me an angel
To guide me the rest of the way home.
