| "THE GIRL AND THE SHADOW" |
| She was walking alone in the dark on a star lit night when from the East in the sky, she saw a bright shining light. Her life, to this point, she felt had been so much in vain, What could this light be? Was it a sign to her that there was Hope again? She stopped and stood still in her tracks, gazing in wonder and awe, Could this be God's way of telling her that Life is worth living--after all? She fell to her knees and cried our in despair... "God, if that's really you, then help me understand why life seems so unfair. She knelt and she waited and cried her eyes in vain, Still the light shone bright, but no answer came. She sat and waited 'til the sun broke the horizon, With tears in her eyes, she saw something surprising. Just behind her, close to her side, was a "Shadow" and tear stains in the sand She realized then, God had not left her alone, He was as close as the reach of her hand. She got up and started walking and the "Shadow" followed her too, With a new glimmer of Hope in her eyes, she realized the "SON" had finally shone through. Now she takes each day, one day at a time, with renewed spirit and heart, And thanks God above for the "Shadow", which from her will Never depart. Copyright--Janice P. 1/20/2001 |
