Dracula's Many Wives -- |
|
|
Dracula's Many Wives is a concept album for a theatrical production on Vlad Tepes. It has been created in a single session with no rehearsals, using simple equipment. The result is a raw sound, which helps to see the developing motifs within the songs. Read the story here! 1459 The story is about a traveling musician that visits Transylvania. He is led along a path of temptation through the town. He is told that the local Baron wishes to be entertained by his presence. He agrees to be summoned to the infamous Bran Castle. The town is rich with corpses and the townsfolk are terrified of the Baron. While staying at the castle the musician is mystified by the castle's courtyard in which a mysterious well commands his attention. After a successful and well received performance, the musician is led away to his room. Although he has been warned by the Baron and his servants not to leave the room at night, the musician can not resist the temptation of the well, and sneaks away to the courtyard. He is lured to the well by a distorted pleading child's voice which begs him to lower the bucket and chain into the well. The musician does so, after which he is pulled into the well. The well then starts spouting demons which go on a rampage across the castle and surrounding town. The demons storm the castle and attack the Baron, throwing him into the well too. The musician turns into a demon and joins the destruction. After a night's debauchery the demons return to the well with the musician who plays for them in hell. Only the Baron escapes from the well, and continues his reign of terror. He is blamed by the townsfolk for the assault on the town, but no one dares to publicly accuse him. The Baron's name is Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler, also known as Count Dracula. No one knows if the baron has become a demon. The story ends in a cloud of rumor and speculation. |
