Jake, at my mom's birthday, in September. He's got a dirty face in this one, but he's still gorgeous!

Jake and I at his third birthday party, in July this year. He didn't really want a photo taken (he was too busy being Spiderman), but I made him, hahaha.
On one of my rare days off from work, my sister and I took Jake to a local wildlife park. It's the first time he's been able to see animals close up, and he had a ball. He wasn't too sure of the roos at first and preferred to throw food at them instead of letting them take it out of his hand, but by the end of the day he was a pro at it! He apparently still talks about it, and it was 3 weeks ago!
It was also the first time he's ever seen a koala. He thought they were pretty cool actually, and the wonderful park assistant got down on her knees so I could get a photo of him hugging it. He wasn't too fond of the chickens though - one ran up and pecked him on the leg. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of that. Nor did I get a photo of the turkey chasing me. I hate turkeys!
I've held a koala before, of course, but when it was offered to me, I just couldn't resist - I love them! They're so soft and cuddly, even if their claws are sharp as hell!
Lauren's turn to hold a koala and Jake couldn't resist giving it a pat. And trying to make it eat it's leaves, I think. He kept trying to feed everything at the park, including the dingoes and the pumas. That wasn't a good idea. It was pretty funny though when he was trying to shove food in the kangaroos pouch so the joey could eat!
This is a pretty good shot of a roo, I think. Maybe it liked us, but it was making some way weird faces!
