My name is Malcolm Mackay and I record music as ice MACHINE. ice MACHINE  recordings date back to early 1991,  when I was a 1st Year student at The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology,  in Aberdeen, Scotland.  Most of these recordings have been solo projects, but I have ocassionally collaborated with a good friend of mine, Gordon Pearce. 

My influences are wide and varied,  including Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, OMD, Kraftwerk, Human League, Recoil, U2, Curve, Garbage and a smattering of pop and rock from the 80's onwards. Somehow I try and mix this massive spectrum together, mainly using synths, drum machines and sequencers,  though I can play guitar and bass.

I have slowly built up my collection of equipment over the years,  and now I have a well formed mini-studio in my current flat in Edinburgh.
