My name is Malcolm Mackay and I record music as ice MACHINE. ice
MACHINE recordings date back to early 1991, when
I was a 1st Year student at The Robert Gordon Institute of Technology,
in Aberdeen, Scotland. Most of these recordings have been solo
projects, but I have ocassionally collaborated with a good friend of
mine, Gordon Pearce.
My
influences are wide and varied, including Depeche Mode, Nine
Inch Nails, OMD, Kraftwerk, Human League, Recoil, U2, Curve,
Garbage and a smattering of pop and rock from the 80's onwards. Somehow
I try and mix this massive spectrum together, mainly using synths, drum
machines and sequencers, though I can play guitar and bass.
I
have slowly built up my collection of equipment over the years, and
now I have a well formed mini-studio in my current flat in Edinburgh.
