Okay, I guess if any page here on my sight makes me look like a dork its gonna be this one. As I have said on previous pages, one of my favorite things to do is sit outside listening to my walkman. Honestly, I've been doing that for 13 years now. I got my first walkman in 1987 while in the 3rd grade. From roughly, '87-'93 I just listened to the radio or I listened to the few tapes I had. At the end of '93 several months after my aunt was killed in a car accident I started remembering a trip I took with her. Connie (my aunt), my cousin, mom, sister, and I took a trip to Greenville, SC in around '89 and on the way Connie was playing a tape of favorite songs she likes. It was a great tape but months after her death I was wondering what happened to that tape. I was also going through a time where I was missing alot of the songs that I use to listen to on the radio but isn't played anymore. Finally at the end of the year I realized what I could do. Start making my own tapes.
Shortly after Christmas in '93 I made my first tape. I had a few goals in mind with the whole things:
I wanted my favorite songs from the radio.
Years down the road I wanted to be able to put one of these tapes in and listen to what was popular at the time, as well as reflect of what was going on in my life at the time. I guess you could say I was looking to make a soundtrack to my life.
In the end my objectives were simply to get on tape MY personal favorite songs from the radio to keep for years to listen to.
Below is a list of those tapes, as well as CDs now, that I have made. There are two groups. There are the RADIO FAVORITES and RADIO'S BEST.
RADIO FAVORITES
The first compilation I'm listing is the most recently made one. I have made, including the one below, 25 Radio Favorite tapes. Each being at least 90 min. long. Number 10 was 100 min. and Number 15 was 120 min. All together that is 37 1/2 hours of music.
RADIO'S BEST
Radio's Best is a brand new series of compilations. Being that Radio Favorites are generally 90 min of constant music (no dead space between songs), only on cassette, and has alot of songs that either isn't played on the Radio or the version of a song on isn't one played on the radio, I started Radio's Best as a CD version of Radio Favorites. Again you'll see my personal favorites from the radio as well as a few songs NOT played on the radio.
