Sabryna Re Ann
Lets begin with the fact that David and I were trying to concieve for two years after the loss of our first son Jonathon. Jonathon had a heart defect and lived for 5 days. The most amazing 5 days of our lives.
After numerous attempts and getting pregnant the "natural" way we finally decided to speak with my doctor about our problem. We found out soon after that other than having a transverse uterus (tilted to the back), and no outer cervix because of my having cervical cancer removed the previous year, I was fine in that perspective. David on the other hand was not. We got his test results back with LOW scores and were to start some drugs in the next couple of months to help us out. Little did we know, I was pregnant when they tested him hehe
I was checked out and all looked fine. We were so very excited as my dream of becoming a mother (again) was finally coming true. Although VERY stressful and many many cautious measures were taken I was doing great.
I was scheduled to have a cerclage (a stitch around the cervix to help me carry the baby longer) at 12 weeks. All went perfect until that point. After having the cerclage placed (a bit trickier than usual with No cervix at all lol) I was one strict bedrest for the next 3 months and moderate bedrest there after. I am not a lay around kind of gal so I was sure to be one very grumpy lady LOL.
I did as told of course and was fine until January 15 when I started having labor pains and contractions. (I was due February 28) We rush in and out of the hospital for a few weeks. They stopped it each time and all was fine.
I will never forget the difference in those labor pains and the real deal LOL On January 25, 2003 I started contractions again only 5 minutes apart. This was on Saturday and I knew I could make it until Monday when I had an appointment (hard headed). I suffered but was fine until I seen my OB on Monday morning at 10 am.
I told my doc about the contractions and he just sort of brushed it off since I had them for a couple days. Until i described the pressure and need to push feeling which snet me straight to L and D to be monitored LOL. I started being hooked up at 3 pm and by 3:15 I was told that I would be having my C section within the hour to call anyone we needed to now!!! I was terrified. OMG she is a month early and what do we do, how do we do this! All the normal questions I suppose.
I had my beautiful tiny daughter at 6:09 pm via emergency C section on January 27, 2003. She weighed 5 lb 9 oz but was only 17 inches long :-) Little like mommy hehe. I didnt see her for 3 days since she was taken straight to the NICU and I was stuck in bed until they cared to unhook me and all that. I was furious until someone finally took a pic of her through her little isolet and brought it to me. I bawled like a baby myself of course.
We took our beautiful girl home on February 5, 2003. Still struggling to eat and sometimes not breathing well but we would take her anyway we could :-)
Now at 15 months old Sabryna Re Ann is a VERY happy healthy large girl LOL She is almost 30 lbs. and 2.5 foot tall hehe. She has some heart issues but we were recently released from our 3 month visits and are cardiologist free :-D
