The birth of my 2nd..
Kaylee Maria Adams!
Born: January 21st, 2004 to Bryan and Traci Adams

My son was only 10 months old when I got pregnant with Kaylee. This pregnancy was so different from my first. Unlike with my son,  I was sick .. not vomiting but very nauseated. I lost 12 lbs in the first trimester. Then I gained it back plus 14 more pounds..as opposed to the 42 lbs I gained with my son. My due date was January 28th. I learned that I was having a girl when I was 23 weeks.. I was soooo happy.. I really really wanted a girl. It was almost a must.. that I had a little girl. I wanted to experience all the mother/daughter things. So I was thankful when I heard him say it was a girl. When I was about 4 months or so I was told there was a chance my baby would have Downs Syndrome. We were so nervous but decided against the amniocentisis that would tell us for sure if she did or didn't have it. I was going to love her regardless and there was nothing that could be done. All we could do was hope and pray.I was having contractions at 6 months into my pregnancy but never resulted in birth. By week 30 or so I was soooooo ready to have her. I was whining and whining. I was so miserable. I couldn't hardly sleep anymore. At "38 weeks" (you'll see my reason for the " as you read on) I told my dr. I was so miserable and I couldn't sleep anymore. He said well.. if you haven't had her by your next appt. we'll see what we can do. Well.. my mom, Carson(my son), and I went shopping after that appt. When we were nearly through shopping my mom got a call on her cell.. it was the receptionist from the dr.'s office I had just left. She said" Dr. Hatch has changed his mind and said to meet him at the hospital Wednesday morning at 6:30am." which was less than a week away. I was soooo happy. I was scheduled for induction on Jan. 21st , 2004@ "39 weeks". I arrived at the hospital , got hooked up to the machines, got an IV in , and all the other fun stuff. Again.. just like with my son.. they discovered I was already having mild contractions. They still proceeded with the pitocin drip to get things going. At 9:00ish they broke my water. Around 11 or so.. out of nowhere.. just like with my son.. My contractions HIT and I was breathing hard and in a lot of pain. The nurse insisted I get an epidural. So I got my epi around 12 or 1. My blood pressure was really low and the anesthesiologist really didn't want to give me the epi til it came up. So they gave me some medicine to make it come up. Although it didn't work that long. And also Kaylee's heartrate was into the 190's so they kept a close eye on her. I was so scared I was going to have to get an emergency c-section. But umm.. they didn't give me alot of medicine in my epi. Just enough to take the edge off. I could still lift my legs and feel the amniotic fluid trickling out of me. I started feeling ALOT of pressure around 2:30pm and the nurse checked me and said I was 10cm and she could feel the baby's head comming. We waited and waited on the dr. to come. It was soo hard to keep myself from pushing . I had such a strong urge that it was basically uncontrollable. The dr. finally got there around 3:15. I pushed only a few times but felt every minute of it.. I felt everything.. almost like I had no epi and she was born at 3:33pm. She was a HEALTHY (NO Down Syndrome)7 lbs 14 oz and 21 in. Again they were wrong. Went to the dr. 2 whole weeks later and they measured her twice and said she was only 20 3/4 in. then. Anyways.. after she was born they said she was only 37 weeks gestation.. they could tell from all the white sticky stuff on her. vernix something.. second word starts with a C. But they said no telling how big she would've been had she gone 3 more weeks. She had apgars of 8 and 9 so. She is now almost 3 months old. I can't believe how big she is getting. At her 2 month check-up and shots.. she weighed 11 lbs 2 oz and was 22 1/2 in. She is a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL baby. Started sleeping through the night at 3 WEEKS OLD! Well.. thank you all for reading about the birth of My beautiful little girl Kaylee.
