My name is Johanna and Jade Rose is my second baby. I wanted to wait after 2 years before I got pregnant again. I was also hoping that my next baby would be a girl. My husband also wanted to have a girl because he already have 2 older sons from a previous marriage and we have another son together; Jerod Anthony. I was given the shot for a year after Jerod was born so I won't get pregnant. After a year I decided to stop and hoping that I would get pregnant a year after. Luckily exactly after a year I got pregnant. At around six weeks of my pregnancy I started spotting, I got scared that something might be wrong, so I went to the hospital. A year before Jerod was born I got pregnant but It was a tubal pregnancy, and I was also spotting. I was really scared and worried that it might be another tubal pregnancy. I was so happy when the doctor told me that the baby was fine and for the first time I heard the baby's heartbeat. I had my first ultrasound around my 3rd month. With Jerod I did not want to know the sex, they couldn't find out anyway, beacause he was moving to much. With Jade, I found out right away.I was so happy when I was told that I was having a baby girl. My husband still won't believe it, he said ultrasound aren't 100% accurate. Anyway, I know for sure that my baby is a girl, mother's instinct, I guess. As the months went by, I was gaining too much weight and the baby was getting to big. My doctor was worried that the baby bight be too big for me, I'm not even 5 feet tall. I had about 2 ultrasounds after the first to make sure that the baby's not getting too big for me. the doctor didn't want me to have a c-section so my baby's growth was being monitored. I also made sure and asked everytime I had the ultrasound whether or not I was really having a girl and everytime I was assured that I was. At about 32 weeks of my pregnancy, I suddenly got dizzy and fell on the floor. I thought I felt fine but a couple of hours later, I suddenly felt some cramps, so I immediately went to the hospital. I was checked and was told that I was having some contractions. They told me it was still too early for me to have the baby. So I had to stay overnight and was given some medication to stop the contraction. The baby was fine, the fall didn't harm her, I was dehydrated and had urinary tract infection that caused the contraction so I was told to drink more fluids. After the fall, I was doing just fine except I felt like I was carrying two babies, because I was so big and my belly was so heavy. I was excited and a little bit miserable, too. Jade' s due date was supposed to be on the 10th of July but I was already having some labor pains on the 3rd. I couldn't sleep at all starting from the 3rd and around 3 am on July 4th my contractions were getting worst. So I called the Nurse and told her, she told me to wait until the contractions are about 5 minutes apart then come in. Around 11 am I went to the hospital, and was told to go home because I was only 2 centimeters dilated, so I went home. After an hour, I couldn't handle the pain anymore and the contractions were getting closer than 2 minutes. So I went to the hospital. I was already 4-5 centimeters and was admitted. It took me awhile before I even delivered Jade. I was stuck at 6 centimeters for about 6 hours. It was already around 7 pm, when finally I was ready to push. I was in so much pain the epidural didn't help. I was so tired because of lack of sleep that it took me forever to push, I almost gave up. Finally, Jade came at 8 in the morning on July 5th. I couldn't believe it I was in labor for 24 hours. The doctor told me all the pain and the waiting was worth it because when Jade came out, she was the most beautiful baby she ever laid her eyes on. I saw Jade for the first time and my doctor was right. She was so beautiful with lots of black curly hair. I was so happy to finally see and hold her. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. I taught that I would finally be able to rest but I looked at my husband and I knew something was wrong. I asked him if he was alright. He helped me through the whole experience, and like me, he also didn't get any sleep. I knew he was also tired. Before he could answer me, if he was alright, he suddenly started shaking. He was having a seizure. I screamed for help. I was so scared that he had a heart attack. He was taken to the emergency room. I had to wait for a couple of hours before I found out that he was just fine. He was just tired and hungry. He was so busy helping me push he didn't have anything to eat. Finally everything was fine. I still have to stay for 2 more days because my blood count was low. I had a difficult labor and had to wait until my blood count went back to normal. `Jerod Anthony was so happy to finally see his little sister. I prepared him even before so he was ready. He loved to watch the baby story with me. At present Jade is a very happy, very sweet and very lovable 2 year old. Jerod and Jade get along just fine. Jerod takes good care of Jade. I couldn't be any happier, having two beautiful children, and lucky, too, for having a boy and a girl. |
