I found out that I was pregnant when I was 17, and I was terrified. Although I was with, and still am with, my boyfriend Josh, and we were living together I had never thought of having a baby. I was told that I was due on the 6th of November and so I started to feel excited. I bought loads of stuff, sold some old things to get more money and kitted out the nursery. When it got to November 1st I started gettin nervous. This was my first child and I'd heard all sorts of horror stories! My mom talked to me about it, and calmed me down. My sister has 6 children and so she was my source of knowledge when I was scared.
At 5am on the 6th november I woke up with a sore tummy. I didn't think of the date and just rolled over and went back to sleep. At about 9am I woke up again with a huge pain in my tummy. I got scared and rang my sister who called Josh and the midwife. They arrived and I got dressed. I went to hospital and I had an internal- I wasn't dilated. I was really annoyed cause I wanted to see my bubba. We went home and I managed to stay away til 6pm when I went back- Josh nearly had to carry me I was in so much pain. Then it all started. I was 5cm and they took me to a bed. I don't remember much but at 11;46 pm I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Alannah Star Marhia Mackenzie. I was so amazed that she came bang on time but so glad I wasn't late- I couldn't have stood that!
