I was 21 years old when I was pregnant with Jamie, Shane was nearly 3 years. Jamie was due 25th march but arrived 8 days late. I was out shopping with my sister and was just coming out of icelands when I felt some pains, I told my sister who said I was mucking about and its not funny! Well it was aprils fools day! lol
Later that day, the pains kepted coming and I knew that I had to go to the hospital. I was scared stiff from having Shane! I couldnt get anyone to look after Shane and had to wait for my mother to get in! I then went to the hospital by bus lol without my case too. I arrived at the hospital and was told i wasn't in labour and to go home! I was just putting on my trainers when my waters went! I shouted for the midwife who came in and said I had wet myself! I then said to her I have not!! And if I wet myself why would it still be coming out?
She had a look, and noticed that in fact I had had a show too! My brother got my case and then my mother came to the hospital! I demanded another midwife as the other woman didn't know what she was doing!
I was given pethedine and had gas and air, my mother was down at the end of the bed eating a sandwich while watching lol I wasn't in much pain as the drugs helped no end. Jamie's head came out and I couldn't feel anymore contractions telling me to push! At this point I was scared as I had no pain either just Jamies head sticking out! The midwife told me to strain like I was going to the loo which I did and to be honest I did poo myself, but it was either that or my son dying! The midwife cleaned it up, and I had the cheek to ask her to wipe my bum for me too! lol Jamie came out purple and not moving! I cried my heart out and said " omg his dead" and the midwife then slapped him and swang him round and then he let out a cry! I was scared and very upset, luckly jamie was ok and we went home within 6hrs!
