Indoneisan Movies
Indomedia
- Janji
Joni is my favourite Indonesian movie to date. If you're an AISWA
school teacher, check out the library in 2007 for a great
resource...
- Ungu
Violet is a melodrama, starring Dian Sastro. Very arty, a lot of
reliance on the visual for the story line rather than dialogue, so quite an
easy to follow one. Not sure how much appeal it would have to students. Any
comments?
- I refuse to put Ada
apa dengan Cinta first on my list. It is NOT the only Indonesian
movie out there, although sometimes I think people think it is. (And no, it's not one of two
and the other one isn't Langitku Rumahku, which honestly, really is
getting a bit dated. Actually, i think it was a bit dated when I was in
Year 11). The bahasa Jakarta makes it very hard for non-native
speakers to understand, and it's definitely M rated for Aussie schools because
of the suicide attempt scene...
