Our actions and projects

For the perpetuation of the memory of the victims and the rehabilitation of the survivors and education of the generations, we lead several actions:

-The evening of remembrance of April 07th: organized every year since 1995 in Brussels, consists of Marche in torches or Marche of the Recollection as well as of the Evening of the Memory during which the survivors of the genocide deliver their testimonies.

- The collection of testimonies: The project " Remember " is dedicated to the collection of the testimonies of the survivors of the genocide on audivisual support.
- lThe collection and the filing of documents relative to the genocide.

- The photos exhibition of Rwanda 1994: The testimony of IBUKA was exposed in various cities of several European countries.

- The days of reflection on the origin, the progress and The consequences of the genocide. Colloquiums are organized Every year some days before April 07th.

- The publication of the " Acts of the remembrance " in which are recorded the activities relative to the remembrance and in the days of reflection.

- The activities of remembrances organized By the local sections.

In the field of the assistance(audience) to the survivors of the genocide:

The psychological accompanying of the survivors blockquote
- living in Belgium within the framework of the project " Mpore " in association with MSF-Belgique.

- punctual interventions in various domains to support the survivors in trouble. This shutter was not able to be generalized due to the lack of financial means.

- The expense participation of schooling of surviving children of the genocide in Rwanda. This shutter is taken care by the section of IBUKA of Louvain-la-Neuve in collaboration With the Association of the Students and Raise Survivors of the Genocide ( A.E.R.G ) ., Section of the National University of Rwanda (Butare, Rwanda).
