Storm Clouds
This painting was for my year 10 exam. I had studied the motion of the sea by drawing quick studies and taking some photos. I was falling to one side when I took the photograph that I eventually painted which I thought would give an unusual sea feeling. I feel that the unusual angle of the horizon simulates the life at sea on a large sailing boat. I was trying to portray a depressed, angry feeling and thought that by adding clouds will fulfil my aim by introducing the anger sensation into the painting. The greyish dull tones were applied to aid the expression of misery radiated by the painting.

You may witness the line between the clouds and the sea, which was formed by joining the two pieces.
