| This was my first painting, which was painted in school. I wanted to symbolize death and so I chose a sheep's skull for the obvious reason but I cannot remember the point of the wine bottle. The rotten sliced orange was used to represent the wrinkly skin of old folks. This still life was my first painting in school. The theme was death and after looking at the work by Peter Glazes I was sure to know the objects that should be included in the painting. I was rather chuffed with this painting as a teacher in the school offered to bye it; I said to him 'no way its my first painting sir'. |
