RC088. Landmarks of
Jihad
By Lt. Col. M. M. Qureshi, Foreword By Lt. General M.
Attiqur Rehman
14 cm. x 21.5 cm. Pages 383.
The book consists of studies of fourteen battles covering the first
eight centuries of the Islamic era. This period was the unique military
phenomenon called the Arab Conquest and also the decline of the Arab power
in Spain and in Western Mediterranean. For three of these centuries Christendom
and the Muslims were engaged in the deadly struggle called the Crusades.
Unlike the accounts of early Muslim chroniclers, these studies have
been made from strictly military point of view. In an essay on the law
of Jihad in Islam, the author discusses the principles of Islamic
warfare. The book has nineteen maps and sketches of the battlefields.
