On behalf of the IBIS Connections staff, I would like to welcome back all the students, parents, and faculty.
I feel like I speak for most of the class of 2004 when I say that these past three years have been leading up to this especially important time in our lives. And so, to my fellow seniors, I wish you the best of luck as you begin what is sure to be a momentous (and stressful) year.
To the freshmen, I say, Welcome to the IBIS family! You have no idea what youve gotten yourselves into, but dont worry, youll find out soon enough. Seriously though, if I could impart to your class some words of wisdom, I would offer you the words of Albert Einstein: Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. Throughout the next few years, you will be challenged as never before in all areas of your life, academic and non-academic. If you stay committed to yourself and your ideals, though you may not be sure what those are yet, you cannot fail.
To the rest of IBIS, I look forward to getting to know even more of you. If you see me in the hallway, please feel free to say hi - Ill be that weird girl with the short brown hair and funky toe socks.
As you leaf through this issue of IBIS Connections, you will probably notice a few changes. Our goal is to make this newspaper an effective means of communication for the entire IBIS academy. New suggestions and comments are always welcome.
I would like to extend an invitation to the entire IBIS family, that includes parents, teachers, coordinators, counselors, and students, to become part of the IBIS Connections staff. If you are interested in publishing something whether it be an announcement on some community service event you are doing or a pertinent photograph that you would like to share with the rest of the academy I encourage you to contact us at [email protected].
Always at your service,
Susy
