NHS Criteria

The National Honor Society is a prestigious society that reveres scholarship, service, leadership, and character. For those of you considering membership, these criteria, from which the organization is based upon, are fundamental.

Students who have a 3.0 unweighted grade point average and have actively made voluntary contributions to the community are eligible. Applicants must also have leadership qualities and must demonstrate the principals of morality and ethics and maintain high standards of integrity and consistency.

Further considerations include a completed application containing teacher recommendations and an essay about the importance of service in one's life. Moreover, students may not have any referrals, as this does not uphold the institution of character.

However, keep in mind that membership is subjective. A voluntary committee of faculty, including teachers, decides who is admitted.
