Vocabularies
Ao and Lungsan - mortar(lungsan) and pestle(Ao) used in pounding
          palays.

Ato
- a cultural institution for socio-religiuos and political functions. Each
         purok has its own ato.  Venue for begnas and lumdang.

Bayen - Vacant or unoccupied houses used  as granaries.

Cadcad - Stone walls build around the pastureland.

Caramba - Clay pot usually used for water storage
                - panuman

Damuyan - a huge, flat and shiny (sedimentary) rock usually found in
                  ato.

Gubo - a man made cave used as burial site.

Inatep
- a nipa hut which usually has a DAO(open basement) and the
             main entrance is 6 ft above the basement. Roof is made up of
            
kugon while the other foundation are made up of wood and
             bamboos.

Lumdang
- (please see Events) services or rituals performed after
             harvest time.  During LUMDANG, each household in a Purok,
             contributes at least one cup of any harvested legume or
             vegetables which are cooked in the ATO. At lunch time, people
             bring their rice and feast on the food.

Og-ogbo - a collection self help similar to BAYANIHAN.
               - reciprocal labor.

Purok - subdivision in a barangay or a cluster of houses in a defined
             area within the barangay. Bila has seven major puroks namely
             Kalkalinat, Gawa-an, Laglagan, Mokgo, Saan, Napakey,
             Kabugnay and two minor puroks namely Napo and Eengan.
             - ubon
         
Sapata - A traditional way of settling conflicts where suspects are called
          to the ATO and before the elders, they swear their innocence with
          the belief that a curse will befalls them if they lie.

Tayan - Wide rice field.

Tetey - the staircase for an inatep which is made up of bulo, bamboo or
             wood. It is not permanently attached in the hut.  In the old days,
            after all members of a family entered their hut for the night they
            brought up the tetey so as to avoid theives and other unwanted
            guests.

Timbulan - structure at the center of the barangay used for community
                   gatherings.
