| Civil rights was a big issue during the sixties and seventies. Civil rights leaders such as Rosa Parks (above) and Martin Luther King were in their prime during this era. Even non-peaceful leaders like Malcom X were active at this time. Many important events happened. Such as in 1963 Martin Luther King was arrested several times, dogs and hoses were pointed at peaceful civil rights protesters, and King delivered the famous "I Have a Dream" speech. | In 1964 Lydon B. Johnson signs the civil rights act. That was a very impotant event. Then in 1965 Malcom X or Malcom Little was assinated. He is known for his views on if blacks are superior to whites. Finally in 1978 the Supreme Court of The United States outlaws all racial quota's. | ||||||||||
