New Leadership Decided as IBHE-SAC Reviews Higher Education Budget.
Edwardsville � The Illinois Board of Higher Education Student Advisory Committee voted in several new Executive Board members to the committee. Kevin O'Kelly from Northern Illinois University was elected Alternate Board Member to the Board of Higher Education. Chris Foltz of Western Illinois University was elected Committee of the Whole Vice Chair. Lisa Twardowski from Illinois State University was elected to be the new Executive Secretary. Allison Costello from Monmouth University was elected Vice Chair for the private university sector. George Lesica from Eastern Illinois University was appointed Chair of the Non-Academic Affairs subcommittee. His new Vice-Chair will be Lavon Pettis of Joliet Junior College. Sara Guarino from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was appointed the new Vice-Chair of Special Operations. Southwestern Illinois College Student Amanda Merrit will be the new Vice-Chair for Academic Affairs.
The Budget subcommittee reviewed this years higher education budget. Academic Affairs subcommittee authored a statement against fake degree issuing diploma mills. Non-Academic Affairs reviewed student fee issues. br>

The next IBHE-SAC meeting will be held at Roosevelt University. The meeting will be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2003.
