How To Create Views (FTPC Members):
Introduction:

This server maps the VSE File System using a new and sophisticated, yet simple, concept: File Views.  You expose VSE files (to FTP clients) by  creating  simple, english-like, views.  Each view represents a set of one or more files sharing a common access method.  Views can be specific enough to expose   a single file,  or  generic enough to expose a large number of files. Or it can be in-between  (i.e., expose  a  selected number of  files).   Please note that you can create any number of views (even of the  same type) to suite your needs.

Naming FTPC members:

File Views are LIBR members. Therefore, you must adhere to LIBR naming rules.  The name of the member is actually up to you.. You may choose any suitable name.  The type of the member, on the other hand, is fixed and must always be FTPC.

Saving and Cataloging FTPC members:

Please save FTPC members in the
startup sublibrary. For more information about the startup sublibrary, please see

The  following is a brief  description of the VIEW Types you can create:

You can set up POWER views to accomplish the following:

                               - Expose all queues (LST, PUN and RDR).
                               - Expose a  single queue (i.,e. LST)     or
                               - Expose a single class in a queue (i.,e., CLASS Z in LSTQ)

You can setup LIBR views to accomplsih the following:

                               - Expose all libraries in your system.
                               - Expose a single library (and all its sublibraries)
                               - Expose a single sublibrary in a specific library.

You can setup views to accomplish the following:

                                - Expose a set of unspecified FLAT files.
                                - Expose a single file.
                                - Expose a set of files on a specific Volume (VTOC VIEWS).
Here, you can
specify a unique, per-user filter to essentially expose a subset of files.

You can setup views to accomplsih the following:

                               - Expose a set of unspecified VSAM files (shell,  or generic views).
                               - Expose a specific file.
                               - Expose a set of files in a specific VSAM catalog (VSAM Catalog Views).
Here, you
can specify a unique,  per-user filter to essentially  expose a subset of files. .
