Potato Poetry
For centuries the humble spud has nourished millions,  sustained civilisations, and helped mankind to flourish and prosper.  This vegetable has been taken for granted for much too long.  If spuds no longer existed, the results for humanity would be too disastrous to imagine.  That's why I decided to pay a little hommage to potatoes.  If any of you have any more poems about spuds to share with us all, stick it in my guestbook and I'll put it on the page.
Ode to a Spud
By a fanatical spud lover
Oh spud, my dear spud,
What a wonder you are,
For you I would swim seas,
I would take feather and tar.

You've been here so long,
Our fathers you nourished,
All because of you
they have prospored and flourished.

Whether you're chipped,
boiled, roasted or sauted,
You're oh so delicious
My day you have made.

For when I get home
after working all day,
and see you there on my plate,
I just have to say...

..."My goodness! I love you,
you sweet sweet sweet thing"
And when I bite in
I can hear my heart sing.

And every time
my heart's heavy or sad
I go straight to the kitchen
and eat the whole bag.
