The third astronomical gathering of
Isfahan province was held by Iran’s Akhtarvash Society on 17-18
Feb 2003 in the same time with anniversary of respect day for
Khaje Nasiredin Tousi with participation of prominent masters of
this science like professor Ahmad Kiasat Pour, master of astronomy
of Isfahan university physics department and Mohammad Reza Sayad,
expert of geophysics institute of Tehran university, in Isfahan
Medical Science University.
The programs of the gathering began
with sound of national anthem, and then some verses of Quran were
read by Naser Razavi, and after that scientific head of the
gathering Mr. Ahmad Reza Karimi made his beginning speech.
In this gathering in addition to
articles “Instrumental Astronomy” by Professor Ahmad Kiasat
Pour and “Iranian Calendar” by Mohammad Reza Sayad, 13 other
scientific articles were presented by researchers and amateur
astronomers from all across the country.
Scientific level of this gathering
was evaluated better than previous ones and articles were mostly
according to research and development rather than gathering the
information.
Most of the recipients were
university students and high ranks of high school. The number of
participants was nearly 150. They were from different cities like
Isfahan, Tehran, Mashhad, Kermanshah, Kerman, Hamadan, Shahreza,
Sahrerey, Dezfoul and Mahalat.
Also members of different
astronomical groups across the country took part in the gathering.
Printing and distributing texts of
articles between participants was one of the advantages of this
gathering compared with previous ones.
At the end ceremony professor
Kiasat pour made his speech and evaluated this gathering as a good
job and gave some advices about union and friendship between
different astronomical groups. Then the executive manager Dariush
Zolfaghari Rad made his speech about difficulties and problems on
holding such gatherings and appreciated all the sponsors and
participants of this gathering. After that those who presented the
articles were given some memorial presents.
Also those who answered scientific
and literature questions were given some other presents like
binoculars given by SaIran industry and Internet Accounts by
Chavoosh Company.
Also top students of astronomy
classes held for children of Telecommunication Department
personnel, received some binoculars and book as the present.
There were also some observation
programs scheduled for nights of the gathering that were cancelled
due to cloudy weather. |
