“I’ll bet the Lord Kougaiji’s harem is becoming a bit sizeable,” the demon commented with a chuckle. “After all, not does he only have the power to have any woman he wants, but I highly doubt any of them would go unwillingly. They would be honored to be counted as one of his lord’s lovers.”

Yaone stiffened, and did her best to mask the distaste in her voice, but it was difficult. “Lord Kougaiji does not have a harem.”

“Even if he has been so busy with the resurrection, he must have at least a few concubines on the side. And now that he is looking for a wife…”

Not by his own choice, the apothecary noted privately.

“…although the prince should have inherited his father’s courtesans. He would not have to build a harem of his own if he could just take his father’s…” the demon mused to himself. Yaone found herself becoming sick at the thought. While this was common practice in other noble and royal courts, none in Gyumaoh’s extensive harem would have suited his son at all. They were not like him. That, and Yaone had realized long ago, that if her lord were to ever become involved with someone, it would only be one person at a time. The prince’s heart was monogamous.

He was not like the others.
