Why what? The website or why am I here in Argentina?

Well, the latter first!

Those of you paying attention over the past two or three years will know that I am "doing" (is there a better word, like studying or researching?!) a PhD at Cardiff University in the Centre for Language and Communication Research.

My subject topic is the Ethnolinguistic Vitality of Welsh in the Chubut in Argentina, which means that I am spending this Autumn (or Spring depending on where you live!) in the Province of Chubut in Argentina in order to carry out my research.

There will be more about my research and the places elsewhere, so I won`t go into too much detail here!

I arrived here in July in time for mid-Winter and will be returning back to Wales in time for, yep, you guessed it, mid-Winter, but at least I get to spend Xmas at home and meet up with people that I last saw last Xmas!

So, why the website?

Well, the idea of the website was that it would be somewhere that people could keep in touch with what I was doing (hence the diary section) and where I could keep in touch with others (if they bother to leave a message or two on the guestbook! lol).

It seems to have worked well so far, giving me a record of what I was doing and when I was doing it as well as showing people that I am doing something - not just slouching around in bed all day (just most of it!)
