| MARCH 13, 2003 Today, my alarm went off at 5:45 AM. I hit the snooze button and didn't actually get up til about 5:55. Then, I put on some shorts and headed to the field house for a drug test, because I was randomly picked to take it. I have a tough time peeing in front of people. The guy went with me to the bathroom and was talking to me while staring at my back as I tried to fill the pee-cup. Nothing else really happened there. I finished up and came back to my dorm where I went instantly back to sleep after setting my alarm for 9:01. I woke up again and went to my Chemistry class. Last quarter, I had Kuila as my teacher and I had to drop him because I could not understand a thing he said. I have Deese this quarter, and it is great. He has a real sense of humor and speaks good English. I sat with my friends, Jarred, Andrew and Patrick, who live down the hall from me. That was an interesting class. In spite of my fatigue, I stayed awake. I was amazed. After that class, I went to Bogard Hall to see if Dr. Nelson would allow me to take an engineering class if I took the calculus that goes with it over the summer. He quickly told me no and left no room to argue....so I left. On my way back to my dorm, I stopped by the bookstore to pick up the books I need for the quarter and got an icee at the student center. I went to track practice at 12:30 and did a 400 the long way, which is, run a 100, jog back fifty, run a 100, jog back fifty until I cross the 400 finish line. My butt and upper legs are really sore from today and yesterday's practice. I hope they feel better by Wednesday for the meet. After practice, I came back to my dorm where I sat in front of my computer for a few hours. Then I called Kristen to see if she wanted to go to the Wesley Foundation with me for their Bible study. She was already going with a couple of people, but she invited me to meet up with them anyway. So I went, ate supper, and then went to Wesley with Kristen, Judith, and Lance.. I really like the smell of the sancuary there. It reminds me of my grandparent's house kinda, or something like that. We talked about Chapter 8 of John and took communion. After that, I took Kristen back to her dormitory so that she wouldn't get mugged, and then headed back to my dorm where I worked on my calculus homework and talked to people on instant messanger. And now the thought crosses my mind..."are my journals boring, or do people actually like reading them?" A guy I know wrote journals on his website and I enjoyed reading them, so I thought I could do the same thing. I'm going to bed now since it is 1:15 AM and I have an 8:00 class tomorrow. MARCH 14, 2003 Today, I woke up and went to my calculus class. After that I went to my sociology class that I have with Siddig Fageir. He's pretty cool. He let my class out 37 minutes after the class started, and I heard that he doesn't keep classes past 45 minutes. Jarred, Brad, and Patrick made fun of me because I never sit with them. I know half the class so it is kinda hard. Plus, I live within 50 yards of them all on the same floor, so I don't find it to be a real big loss, but they apparently do. Instead, I sat between Emily and this guy, Matt, who plays the mandalin in one of the BCM bands. He's pretty cool. I wish I could play an instrument....any instrument. After that class I went back to my dorm where I hung out til about 11:30. Then I went to eat before I went to chapil at 12:30. I sat with Jake, Evan, Matt and Nicole in the cafeteria and we talked about getting a barbershop quartet together. That would be pretty fun if I could sing with them. Jake saw this old guy that was trying to put pepper on his food, but he had the shaker upside down, then he realized it and flipped it over. It was really funny. After we finished eating, I walked with Evan and Jake to chapil where I got to talk to some of my other friends and then we went to pray in the sancuary. I think I fell asleep while I was praying, cause one minute there were quite a few people in there and then the next, when I looked up, there were only a few. I felt kinda bad. I had prayed though, so it's not like I just slept the whole time. I talked a little more with some other friends after that, and then headed back to my dormatory where I have been ever since. It is 2:53 PM now. I should probably start thinking about getting cleaned up soon for the formal tonight. It's going to be so hot in that tuxedo, but I guess that is the price you have to pay to look awesome. I just hope I don't sweat too bad. They need to get the air conditioner working in Caruthers, because I can't take this heat much longer. They should have left the air conditioner running throughout winter, because I know of nobody that has actually used the heater. Once the AC is activated, though, it's going to get freezing in here, because my roommate does not seem to understand the concept of a mid point. When he is the least bit warm, he turns the thermostat to 60 degrees and puts it on high. He can't do 65 or 70 on medium. Speaking of my roommate, we actually talked some last night, and a little today. It was kinda nice. We don't do that much anymore. The formal I had tonight was really fun. I actually danced a lot more than I usually do at dances. I liked it a lot better than the high school dances I went to. Probably because I liked the people better and there were a lot of beautiful girls all around. I went with Hannah, who said that she didn't dance, but I got her to dance quite a bit. Most of the songs that were played were rap, and that wasn't too great, but a good slow one or a fun one would come on every now and then. I got lots of good pictures. More than I ever have in one sitting. After the formal, I took Hannah back to her dorm and then I came back to mine, where I played on the computer for a little bit and then went to bed. MARCH 15, 2001 Today, I woke up and since coach did not call me to tell me when practice was this morning, I took a guess and went at 10:00 which happened to be right. I ran a 300 in 36 seconds and a 350 in 41 seconds and then another 300; all with Troy and Anthony. I was pretty proud of myself in the 350, because I crossed the finish line almost right next to Troy. That gives me a little hope for the meet when I run the 400. Maybe the other guys will give out faster than I do. That would be great if that happened. I want to look good for my friends who are coming. I don't think I can put on as good a show as I used to be able to do in high school. After track practice, I went back to my dorm and played on the computer for a little bit while iced my sore ankles and butt. Tim called me and asked if I would take him to take his tux back to the place he rented it from. So I did. After that, I called Mailhes and asked him when the meet was and he said that is started at 1. I had been expecting it to start sooner, so I wasn't planning on going. When I heard that, I hurried and took a shower, packed my dirty clothes up and headed to Sterlington High School, where th meet was. It was nice to see all my old track buddies again. A lot of other people that I didn't know remembered me from last year. I also heard people say something about "1-800-Call ATT" about six times while I was there. I wonder if they think they are coming up with something original. Cause they aren't. Okay, I have long red hair, but that's about it. I don't pull crap out of a box for jokes and I don't carry a phone booth around with me. If I did that crap, maybe I would understand the constant repitition of the "Call ATT" commercial, but I don't, so I don't. Anyway, I got to the meet about 2:00, and left around 5:30 after Chase Coleman ran the 200. I had given him a tip on running it: slant the blocks so that he would run straight for a little bit before hitting the curve. Non-track runners might not understand what I just said. I got a pretty good picture of him coming out of the curve. On my way out of the track meet, Mallory Scalia stopped me and gave me a big hug, then she started squeezing pretty hard. That was alright. I squeezed her back, but then she gave up and let go. Then I told her I was on my way out, so she gave me another hug.....I guess I got a "hi" hug and a "bye" hug. So then I came back home, ate supper, and now I am back on the computer, but I am relly tired and think I am about to go to bed. It is only 8:30. I must be sick or something. Actually, what I really did, after I told everyone on instant messanger that I was gonig to bed, was went to walmart to pick up supplies for my dormitory and get some ice cream, Then came back and had a really long conversation with Kristen and talked to Megan on instant messanger til 12:00. |
