Fanzines - The Tainted Word!
As you probably know Part Time Punk was a paper zine until recently so I've decided to devote a page on here to reviewing the very best in the fanzine world......

Anarchoi 14 - 1 from Jame Gemmell, 3 Hazelgrove, Kilwinning, Ayrshire, KA13 7JH

Another interview stuffed issue of a zine which just keeps improving.  It has the classic zine look down to a T, it looks sharp, dynamic but home-made.  Interviews this time round with Sad Society, Bournemouth's Self Abuse, Hateful who also featured in the last PTP), Combat Shock who seem to be back after a long while quiet, Filth Pact and The Sad Mile, plus a whole heap of reviews and a deserved boot up the arsenal for flag totting US Oi bands.

Barbies Dead 19 - 50p from Alex, Woodhouse, The Square, Gunnislake, Cornwall, PL18 9BW

The cut and thrust and cut n paste of Barbie's Dead is back with a new issue and the UK Subs LP profiled this time round is "Riot", so we'll soon be back to "Another Kind Of Blues" again.  The usual mix of reviews and views make this an interesting read.  Worth a look.

Codeye 14 - 50p from Rob Codeye, 23 Falkland Street, Middlesbrough, Cleveland TS1 4JH

After what seems like and eternity Codeye is back with interviews with Dogsflesh, Sick 56 and Punk Shit Distro.  Bits on live gigs by 999, Penetration and Slade prove the most readible, the Slade look back being effectively evocative and interesting.  Nice.

Failsafe - Free from 14 Albert Road, Nottingham, NG9 2GD

A new one to me this freebie.  It's got interviews with the Expelled (interesting) and Agnostic Front (not really my cup of chocolate milk) and some interesting views on the Wasted festival last time out.  Worth sticking your letter in the post for.

Riot On Your Own 22  - Free from 5 Glen Road, Belfast, BT5 7JH

I really liked this, particularly the "Punk GCSE History Exam 2005" which was always going to appeal to an anorak like yours truly.  Lots fo reviews and pictures of Punk-ish looking people in the middle pages and some classic 7 inch sleeves later on.  I like this style.  Mna Over Bored get interviewed and Billy the editor looks back on an SLF gig in 1979 he went to...bet they were "the best audience we have ever had"!!.  Good stuff.

Suspect Device 46.6 - 1 from PO Box 295, Southampton, SO17 1LW.

A nice Xmas issue from the ever reliable Suspect Crew.  As a bonus this comes with a smart Intent CD, but has the usual variety and range of views and opinions, plus interviews ("Whatever happened to the Violators" is answered this time round) and incisive and trusty reviewing.  Bravo Tony and Gaz!!!
