BINAH + CHOKMAH = �

"Past and and future are also the counterparts of Wisdom and Understanding insofar that they are respectively male and female.  The past is said to be male, since it directly influences the future.   In this manner , it is as if the feminine future is impregnated by the past." - Aryeh Kaplan, Sefer Yetzirah - TThe Book of Creation (p.45).

    Kaplan is of course wrong it is the Future, corresponding to Chokmah that impregnates the Past, ascribed to Binah.  In my own experience my vision of the future affected my actions in the Present.
