The Effectiveness of a Spell
The effectiveness of a conjuration depends on P, probability and M, the magickal factor.
P : Probability Event Will Occur
Represents the probability that an event will occur by chance.
The First Equation of Magick
M : Magickal Factor
The magickal factor is depicted by the first equation of chaos magick as follows:
M = GL (1- A) (1-R)
G : Gnosis
The experience of samadhi, mystical union, transcendence of opposites, Tao, crossing the abyss, etc.
L : Magickal Link
The magickal link or connection between the sorcerer and the target of the conjuration. For example, an object owned by the target, a voodoo doll, or image of the target may be used to establish a connection with the target of the operation.
Gnosis and magickal link need to be between 0.8 and 0.9 for a successful conjuration.
A : Conscious Awareness
In addition to this conscious awareness must be lowered to between 0.1 and 0.2 to prevent the interference of the rational mind. One technique involves the abstraction of ones desired outcome through the use of talismans.
R : Subconscious Resistance
And subconscious resistance must not exceed 0.2
The Second Equation of Magick
The second equation is used to evaluate the probability of bringing about an event:
Pm = P + (1-P)M1/p
(NOTE: The equation is M to the power of 1/p)
The Third Equation of Magick
The third equation is used to describe the probable effects of conjurations launched to prevent an event occurring:
Pm = P PM1/(1-p)
(NOTE: The equation is to M the power of 1/(1/p))
